Join our movement of amazing people taking action for refugees. Together, we can build a fairer future for people seeking safety.  By organising your own fundraiser for Refugee Action, you would be raising the funds we need to keep going.

Here are some of our favourite fundraising ideas, and you can check out our fundraising guide for more inspiration. There is something for everyone, whether you’re a master baker or creative crafter, marathon gamer or marathon runner. Whatever you choose to do, we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!

Get physical

Could you complete a physical feat and become a human rights hero? Here are some tried and tested ideas.

  • Join a race and use your place to raise money for Refugee Action. Whether it’s 5k or an ultra-marathon, every mile will change lives.
  • Organise a sponsored walk with friends and family,  choosing a distance that represents the journeys refugees make to reach safety.
  • Grab your bike and get pedalling. You choose the challenge, whether it’s a 5 mile cycle with your mates, or Land’s End to John O’Groats.
  • Go virtual and take on a challenge from home. Clock up the miles over a week, month or more and keep everyone updated with your progress.

Get social

Fancy getting people together to raise funds for refugees? Check out our ideas below.

  • Celebrate with us by doing something different for your big day. Give the gift of your birthday, wedding or retirement to help a refugee find a fresh start in the UK. You can set up a Facebook fundraiser here.
  • Host an event and bring your people together  in solidarity with refugees, You could host a pub quiz, dinner party, open mic night or film screening.
  • Host a Livestream session, whether it’s a virtual gig, comedy session or gaming marathon, turn your hobby into a force for good by using Twitch and either Tiltify or JustGiving to stream your fundraiser.
  • Feeling crafty? Whether it’s handmade cakes, cards, jewellery, embroidery or plants, sell something you’ve made to raise funds for refugees.
