YOUR ACTION
IS CHANGING LIVES

STAND WITH US: YOUR SUPPORT IS HELPING PEOPLE REBUILD THEIR LIVES

Every day your support powers our work .

Refugee Action supports people forced to navigate an asylum system that is too often uncertain, isolating and overwhelming.

The growing demonisation of refugees in politics and the media, alongside wider pressures on the charity sector, is making what we do harder.

So your support matters more than ever.

In this edition of Your Action, you’ll meet Aisha, whose story shows the difference your support is making, alongside others rebuilding their lives and creating change.

You can also read other stories of resilience, community and change – and see how your support is transforming lives.

Thank you for standing with people seeking safety like Aisha and Botan. If you would like to support even more work like this, you  can do so by making a one-off donation today.

PREGNANT IN THE ASYLUM SYSTEM

When Aisha arrived in the UK with her husband, they hoped to build a safe future together and prepare for the arrival of their first child.

But the reality while living in hotel accommodation was very different.

“I stayed inside the room for three months. I didn’t have the confidence to go outside. My depression got worse.”

With your support, Aisha’s family found safe accommodation, a solicitor, and someone on their side.

CHALLENGING HARMFUL POLICIES HEAD ON

Members of our Refugee and Asylum Seeker (RAS) Voice network submitted evidence to an independent inspection, exposing the harsh reality faced by people at the UK-France border.

“No one is illegal… we stand shoulder to shoulder to protect our human rights and serve humanity.”
